The brief
Sellers listed property by phone and email. Agents were onboarded by hand. Both worked at existing volume; neither would survive the growth the business was planning for.
The complication: a separate provider was building the backend. Delivery depended on two vendors holding a line neither of us controlled alone.
What we did
- Design
- Listing and onboarding journeys, designed against the real constraints of the auction process rather than a generic marketplace pattern.
- Mobile
- Native iOS and Android in Flutter, covering seller-side listing creation and agent profile and registration.
- Integration
- A documented boundary with the third-party backend, and a written record of every dependency. When scope had to be reduced mid-project, that record made the conversation short instead of contentious.
On multi-vendor builds, scope the dependency boundary before you scope the features. Every delay we absorbed traced to something outside our repository.
